Welcome

Aber Kayakers is a canoe and kayak club based in Aberystwyth. We have a large number of boats including river running, slalom, and sea kayaks, canoes and kayak polo boats.

Winter: Indoor sessions from October to April at Plascrug Leisure Centre, Aberystwyth – practising basic skills and rolling in the warmth of the swimming pool. Saturday afternoons -Beginner/Intermediate Sessions, and Wednesday evenings – Advanced/Polo Sessions.

Spring: Thursday evenings at the Gravel Pits in Capel Bangor – as the weather warms up.

Summer: Thursday evenings starting from the harbour in Aberystwyth – depending on conditions, we venture out to sea or paddle on the Ystwyth or the Rheidol.

All year: Once you’re confident in a boat, join in with weekend trips, sometimes on the rivers, sometimes on estuaries, sometimes on the sea. We also have a couple of regular annual weekends away, with a river weekend on the Teifi around Llandysul, and a surf weekend in Pembrokeshire.

We are a friendly club, with members from age 12 and above. Beginners or paddlers with experience are all welcome.
